I cannot confirm that this works on Android versions pre-2.1, nor on hardware that’s a generation (or more) older than what’s in the Galaxy S. For the record, it works flawlessly on my Moto Droid, both stock speeds/ROM and overclocked @ 800MHz + Ultimate Droid 6.0.0.
